Moonlight streamed in through my open window. It was 3:00 A.M. in the Uchiha residence. I know it may seem strange, but yes I am sister to the prodigy of the Uchiha clan. My name is Amaya Uchiha, but I never speak of my last name much, afraid that I would be hated for being his sister. Even though a lot of people know already.
The stairs creaked as someone was trying to be stealthy and walk up the creaky wooden stairs. I pulled the covers over my shoulders as a figure stood in the doorway of my maroon colored door. The figure was silhouetted against the darkness, so I couldn't see who it was even if I tried.
To my relief the person walked away from my doorway and went to the room next to mine and shut the door. I took a breath, surprised that I had held my breath for that period of time. I stared at the fan that covered most of my wall above my tan wooden dresser. I finally drifted off to sleep, but to be woken up roughly the next morning by someone proding my in the ribs. I opened my sleepy eyes to see my brother. "What do you want?" I growled in a sleepy voice.
"You'll be late for class if you don't get up," he said in his usual bored tone. He then left my room without any other words.
Sighing, I got out of bed and changed into my normal clothes, dark blue shorts and a black short sleeved t-shirt with my family crest on the back. I slipped on my shoes and hurried downstairs. I grabbed the piece of toast that my brother was going to eat. "See ya!" I yelled as I let the house before he could skin me alive for taking his breakfast. Angry yells could be heard from the house. I smiled as I ate. Oh, and I am his younger sister, but I wish I wasn't sometimes. I was just getting to the Academy by the time he was in the middle of finishing school. And now here I am half way through the Academy while he's out doing missions.
I finished my toast as I walked into the Academy and headed to my classroom. I got inside and sat in the way back. Looking around the classroom I spotted the little sisters of Sakura and Ino, the little brother of Kiba and Shikamaru, the little brother of Choji, the little sister of Neji and Hinata and others too. I sighed as I waited for my good friend to come.
A few minutes passed and class started. Iruka, the Academy teacher, walked into the room and set a stack of papers on his desk. I knew they were test papers and I haden't studied for the test! I was busted, probably. When Iruka started roll call someone slipped into the seat next to me. I turned to see Rika. I smiled and she smiled back, but not before saying here.
Iruka finally passed out the tests shortly after a short speak, but more like a lecture. I looked at the test and groaned, while Rika's pencil went scratching away on her piece of paper. When I started she had turned in her test paper and sat down next to me. I finished with a heavy heart and a dull look in my eyes. I turned in the paper, then went back to my seat.
Rika's big teal eyes tried to confort me without having to say any words aloud. The dull look went away and it was replaced with happiness as I understood what she was trying to say. I rested my head in my hands, looking at Iruka as he graded papers. My long raven black hair fell over my shoulders and into my face. My onix eyes were wide and filled with bliss.
The clock ticked lunch time and Iruka said that everyone would be getting their test scores after lunch. "Ah, lunch time!" I said happily and strutted out of the classroom with Rika at my heels. We both got our bento boxs and headed towads the verenda.
We sat down and started to eat. "You know I think we both got A's," said Rika unexpectantly.
"Why, do you say that?" I asked my mouth full of sasuage.
She shrugged. "I just have a feeling." We left the conversation at that and we were mostly quiet for the rest of the time. I looked at Rika's teal eyes, they seemed to be filled with saddness and a bit of hapiness. It looked as if emotions swirled inside of her. Her long light blue hair fell into her face as she closed her bento box. I have always known Rika for the kind of girl who was bold, trustworthy, caring, but not that she isn't it just seemed as if she was keeping something from me, from everyone.
I sighed and stood up. "Rika, if there is any problem you know you can tell me." I gave her one last smile before getting down from the verenda and starting towards the Academy. Rika gave a slight nod after I had left. She stayed on the verneda, but for too long. Ino's little sister had spotted her. Rika came down from the verenda to see Ino's littler sister, Akari.
"What do you want Akari?" asked Rika obviosuly not in the mood for a lame fight.
Akari flicked her blond hair out of her tan face. "Someone seems to be touchy today."
Rika rolled her eyes. "Can you go one day with annoying the living hell out of me?" She asked flashing an annoyed glace at her, other than that she never looked her in the eye.
"So, sad. To feel jealousy." A sly smirk spread across Akari's face.
"What? Who would feel jealousy over you? Your just a fat pig's sister!" and with that Rika walked away coolly. Akari fummed, but said nothing more to provoke the already mad Rika. Soon the remaining students who had not gone to the classroom, streamed in and sat in their seats.
"Okay, class I will now pass out your test scores," said Iruka as he walked from desk to desk handing out the papers. When he got to the desk that Akari, Rika and I were sitting it he smiled and said to all of us. "Good, job each of you passed the test with not errors."
I whooped for joy hoping this would impress my brother a tiny bit, even though it probably woudn't, but who cared about that now? She had passed and that was that. Rika smiled and Akari smirked. Rika looked at me and said in a quiet voice. "Told ya."
"Yeah. ^^" We highfived, then waited for the next lesson. Class ended at five. I yawned and got up and gathered my stuff. "Well, i have to hurry home borther will be mad at me if I don't get home by six." I said sadly to Rika.
"No!" she said sternly. "You are not going home you may be tweleve, but you passed your test and we have to celebrat by getting ramen!" Said Rika. She grabbed my arm and dragged me out of class and towards Ichiraku's ramen shop.
We both sat down on a red seat and ordered ramen. I ordered beef and she ordered pork. I played with a strand of hair as I waited for the ramen to be severed. Rika was probably thinking about something, cause she kept sighing over and over. Soon the steaming, good smelling, mouth watering ramen was severed. "Itadakimasu!" We both said and broke out chopsticks. We immediatly started to chow down.
I had finished my second bowl as Rika finished her first. She patted her stomach as a signal that she was full. I ordered another bowl. "How can you be full? This was your idea after all."
She looked at me. "Well, I don't have a black hole as a stomach like some people." She patted my shoulder, paied then said her goodbyes. I finished my third bowl quickly, paied and ran quickly towards the Uchiha manor.
Flinging open the maroon colored door I dodged a pan that had been flung at me. "Your late, again." said a sharp, yet bored tone.
"I am not always late!" I shot back as I entered. "And why do you have to fling something at me everytime I come in. Do you have to respect for your younger sister?" I threw my bag at him angerly. My test fluttered out as he caught the bag.
He picked the test up and set down my bag. "Well, what's this?" he said in a bored, yet slightly mocking tone and looked at the test. "For once you got an A. Took you long enough to get one dobe."
I didn't say anything I had already gone to my room and flung myself onto my warm bed. God, can't he be a little nicer? Well, I guess not he thinks everything is annoying so he probably thinks of me as a bug. Sighing, my cell phone began to ring, scaring the living hell out of me. "Hello?" I said my heart pounding.
"Hey, Amaya, it's Sakura. I was wondering if I could talk to Sasuke?"
"Hold on," I said as I set down the phone. "Brother!!! Get your butt into my room!" I screamed.
Heavy footsteps echoed through the house as Sasuke appeared at my doorway. "What?" he asked roughly.
"Sakura wants to talk to you," I said throwing him my phone. He nodded and left chatting to his "girlfriend". At least that's what I though of her as since those two our so close. The sun began to set making the sky look as red as blood. Laying down I fell asleep. The day was long, but had come to an end. Tomorrow was the day. The semi-best day in my life, well It was going to be, but the next day after that it was the day I had been waiting for for so long and now it finally neared.

Human kind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. That is the first law of alchemy: equivalent exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one and only truth. ~FMA
